At Reliable Acorn, we know you want confidence that your GEO actually brings you customers. To get there, you need a trusted generative engine optimization company. The problem is that there is so much conflicting advice out there- how do you know what’s right? You already have too much to do, let alone keep up with the latest trends and tactics. You need a partner you can rely on, someone who can help by ensuring you start with the best LLM optimization services that deliver reliable results.
Here’s how you gain confidence in your GEO service:
So, schedule your discovery call today. Then, you can stop your boss from breathing down your neck and get more customers from your website instead.
Reliable Acorn specializes in internet marketing services and provides GEO services from Charlotte, North Carolina.
Everyone is very excited about AI these days. That can tempt companies to jump into GEO optimization services without first asking whether it will actually help. To understand whether GEO can be a productive marketing effort for your company, first ask whether your customers already know about your product or services. If you offer something people are looking for, GEO is a great way to meet them! However, if you’re first-to-market or offering a solution people don’t know they need (yet), GEO can’t create demand. In that case, start with a demand-generating digital marketing tactic (such as social media).
The good news is, you don’t have to guess. A keyword research project can tell you. We can delve into the data and see if and how your customers might be looking for you. If the data shows people are already looking- let’s go for it. If not, let’s reconsider and find a new strategy.
You can certainly try. I’ve found companies that try this run into problems:
We have all done this before: overwhelmed by work, we hire a new employee- only to watch them fail because we don’t have the time to manage and train them.
Think of AI as a junior employee- you can get them started, but they still need management and training. By the time you and your junior AI employee get up to speed, you could already have gotten results from a generative engine company.
Even on this page, I’m switching between several acronyms. What’s the difference?
There are others, too. Perhaps you’ve heard about AISO (AI Search Optimization), GSO (Generative Search Optimization), CEO (Chat Engine Optimization), or something else.
What’s even more confusing is how many AI chatbots and agents are available. OpenAI owns ChatGPT, and that includes Codex. Anthropic owns Claude, including Claude Code. Google has Gemini, and several AI systems that use Gemini. Microsoft has Copilot. Meta/Facebook has Muse. X/Twitter has Grok. Apple has Siri. Perplexity, DuckDuckGo, and several others also exist. To make it worse, each of these systems has models with their own names: Opus, Astra, Flash, DeepSeek, etc.
No need to be confused; they’re often (and confusingly) used interchangeably. Some of this confusion comes from the fact that this marketing practice is new, so consensus hasn’t settled on one phrase yet. Some of this is because nefarious actors try to confuse consumers to sell something.
I tend to call it all GEO. From what I can tell, that’s where the trends are heading.
To be honest, not much.
For one, both GEO and SEO can help customers find you when they are searching for you. If they aren’t looking for you because they don’t know your solution exists, then neither GEO nor SEO can be most effective.
From a technical perspective, whether you’re Google or Claude, each has little computer programs (user agents/bots) scouring the web to take-in your content. Google saves your website in an index and serves it to customers when they search for your page, while Claude adds your pages’ content to its model and uses it to answer questions people ask. The first step in SEO or GEO efforts is making sure these programs can reach your website and read your pages.
Once these systems reach your website pages, they read your content. That means if you want customers to find you, you need content that speaks to them. Your pages should talk about things in which your customers are interested and convince them they should purchase it from you. Whether your customer is using Bing or ChatGPT, content still matters.
Perhaps the biggest difference between GEO and SEO is how the systems decide, among all the pages on the web that cover similar topics, which is best. For SEO, search engines use links. If a respectable site links to yours, the search engine counts that as a vote of confidence in your authority. For GEO, however, LLMs want to see your respected websites speak favorably about your company. Here’s the secret: getting a website to mention you positively or link to you uses the same skills and tactics. So, even if GEO and SEO use them differently, they involve the same initiatives.
So while GEO and SEO may differ slightly, they’re basically the same. If you’re hiring a good SEO company, they’ll also provide GEO services. Be wary of anyone who upsells you into two different campaigns!
AEO optimization isn’t quick. It takes time to ensure your website is ready, write for your customers, and promote your website on other respected websites. This is why all GEO services at Reliable Acorn ask for a 6-month retainer- so we can have the time to do the things that will help you get found in LLMs.
In the first month, we’ll set up tracking and understand how customers search for what you offer.
Starting in the second month, we’ll publish new articles or update pages on your site. One important detail: LLMs don’t want LLM-written content in their LLM model. That means we need to hire humans to write for you. This might be slower, but it better ensures the LLMs will respect your content.
Somewhere in the second or third month, we will start promoting your website to others. In this way, we’ll act as your digital PR company.
What about the rest of the time? We will constantly monitor results, adjust, write more content, and keep reaching out to other websites to promote yours. Along the way, we’ll track your website’s technical performance to improve visibility in LLMs and other search channels.
After 6 months, we are sure you’ll find it’s working so well that you’ll want to keep going. GEO is not a one-time project. It’s an ongoing initiative to help your customers find you.
One advantage of working with Reliable Acorn is that we are not a one-trick pony. While we’re working with you, if we see a new opportunity, we will point it out. The goal, whether you’re doing GEO, SEO, or anything else, is to get more customers. If we see an opportunity you might overlook, we’ll show you how to connect with more customers.
That is the most important question you can ask, not only about GEO but any marketing tactic. The advantage of digital marketing is that we can not only know how people found your business, but also how many became customers as a result. If the tactics are producing customers, keep doing it. If not, reevaluate.
That means you should measure your GEO services by how many customers you acquire. Don’t get distracted by fancy tools that claim to tell you how you “show up” in LLMs. Just because you show up doesn’t mean they will ever reach your site or become a customer. If they don’t, your GEO services weren’t effective.
In our experience tracking GEO campaigns, they produce very little traffic. Most of the questions your customers ask keep them on the LLM rather than driving them to your site. However, when a customer asks ChatGPT, “who can do this for me?” and you have good GEO services working for you, ChatGPT will recommend you- and that’s where they become your customer.
AI marketing is all very new. Nobody has more than a few years of experience- ChatGPT was only available to the public in late 2022. So what should you look for in an AI marketing consultant:
